It only makes sense. Most reasonable people recognize that it isn't really "shutting" Gitmo. What it is is "moving GITMO". Even though we have spent $200M making GITMO the ideal location for these prisoners.

Where is this headed? It is clear. Obama will give GITMO back to Cuba. Watch and see. He wants to make "reparations" to Cuba for all those years of "mistreatment", and as compensation he'll return GITMO to them.

The "need" to close the facility has nothing to with the prisoners, terrorism, or the lie that GITMO has been a "recruitment tool". It is about freeing up 47 square miles of land that he can then fork over to Castro.
