Black Steel uses Cytec's competing technology known as 'commingled.' Graphite and nylon yarns are mixed together - dry - and then woven into a fabric. The nylon is melted and forced into the graphite during molding.

QDRX makes a thin tape of nylon coated graphite fibers...... this produces a less variable product when molded.
