It is amazing to me. The government's solution is always to cut one or more essential programs. Police, Fireman, Teachers, whatever. Never do they weed out the worthless and lazy, the frivolous or especially the crony jobs.

I would bet you if a good manager were given power to hire and fire without interference, California could balance its budget and cut taxes.
