Brother Geraghty writes: A Hill source calls my attention to the seemingly contradictory facts that the White House is claiming the stimulus has saved or created 150,000 jobs, while Labor Department statistics show the construction industry lost 245,000 jobs in March and April. It's almost as if the administration is just pulling out its stimulus job-creation-or-saving numbers out of thin air or something. My own sources report that the Obama stimulus bill has completely prevented attacks by Monster Zero and Mothra. Who can deny this? Update: From a reader: Was that a backhanded slap at Cheney's torture-protects-us claims? It sure reads that way. Me: Um, no. But I am all in favor of releasing all of the classified memos dealing with Monster Zero and Mothra.
