The whole thing (gas and oil) is sooo upsetting and confusing. Politics are always in the way. It makes NO sense for an oil company, Exxon or not, to drill in their leased lands (expensive!!!) until they can make a profit on any oil that is in the ground, and until they can get the oil to the marketplace.
Haven't the environmentalists been holding the pipeline up for years and years in the courts?
Unless companies can make money, they shouldn't drill. Hiring employees, dealing with court costs for all the law suits from the environmentalists, getting the leased land in the first place, for the privilege of spending millions more to see if there IS any oil underneath, how much, and if it's worthwhile to drill because of the price it will garner after everything is said and done ....

How would you pay for the pipeline, the drilling equipment, and employees? To say nothing of all the taxes these companies have to pay.
Americans stopped cold from driving their cars unless the absolute need was there last summer...$4/gal was the tipping point. Everywhere we go, those that have money, are becoming taxed to death, the retirees who have actually worked, paid taxes over the years, put kids through school, dealt with life in general, have now had their retirement incomes diminish at least 35-60%.
We have no faith in the current government as of a couple months ago...he has not given a straight answer on several things, has played the racial card too many times, and is anything but transparent.
Even the people who don't have much money, and don't pay any or little tax, are hurting...
Our country runs on energy. We have some very serious items on government's plate, and therefore the taxpayers plate. I think if the truth be known, most people like Obama personally, but totally are scared of where we are going.... |
