"Part of the overreaction to 9/11."

Overreaction or opportunity of 9/11?

I've told this true story before, a moment in my life when a little light bulb went off in my pea brain.

When I was ironworking there came a day when my crew was setting steel with 4 guys instead of the required 5. One of the crew had not shown up (sick, car trouble, getting laid, who knows) and the 4 of us agreed that we didn't want some hall bozo and that we could handle the job short handed. As luck would have it the Business agent happened by and proceeded to read me the riot act. Long story short, I asked him "What about that non-union crew down the street" to which he replied "I can't do anything about them, but I can do something about you."

So now I stand in stocking feet at the airport while someones grandma is groped to show how even handed we are. It's illegal to check the citizenship of a voter. It's impossible to check the citizenship of the president. I can be coerced to leave a thumbprint should I need a will notarized. And you can't come and go as you please, comrade, if your chip is not in order.
