Yes, the condenser (capacitor) stores energy <<.....to protect the points. from arcing.>> a milllion times in and out on a small scale in my 73 buick.

MXWL has done this on a large scale, and is now able to reduce the size of a car battery down to the size of small motorcycle size battery, and an ultracap... because of the initial surge (draw), on the starting system, is burst from the ultracap to start the car and then the alternator and small battery takes over for cars electrical needs and recharging the ultracap for the next start.

Ultracaps are ideal for these large electrical surges needed for example, changing the pitch of windmill blades, or storing that temporary surge of power from regenerative braking of cars, rail locomotives, for the next acceleration.

They are a fabulous device and the best part about them are a million round trips, in and outs, before they begin to fail , far superior to any battery in that regard.

MXWL is working on sustaining the duration of power and is making good progress.

It would be fabulous for electric transportation if EEstore can deliver....as Red Green says "i'm pulling for ya , we are all in this together" so come on EEstor prototype please!
