Thanks. I was aware of federal jurisdiction on federal property (many recruiting offices are leased in commercial space, so not sure there), but not aware of the other. It makes sense that there would be a federal interest in protecting those who are acting in furtherance of their duties as federal employees.

Given that we now have the Holder DOJ, I'd expect the feds to defer to the state.
