I know he was smart enough to do an about-face on releasing the abuse photos. He probably had to overrule Rahm Emmanuel to do that.

I don't think Obama will want to debate Cheney on the merits of closing Gitmo. Likely he'll continue to follow Tenchu's second rule of partisan politics: Silence the opposition.
