Benefits, such as Social Security, food stamps, unemployment insurance and health care, accounted for 16.2% of personal income in the first quarter of 2009, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reports.

'Health care' is a part of personal income?

Anyway both Medicare and SS have dedicated taxes, and are running a surplus.

What is it you want to cut?

And how the heck did you miss this part in your cut and paste????

"The recession caused about half of the increase, according to the report. Unemployment insurance nearly tripled in the past year. The other half is the result of policies enacted during President George W. Bush's first term."

And yes I'm 'proud' that fewer people are hungry and homeless.
