BTW, I lived in Austin in 1958 to 1964 and I saw racism first hand...on both sides of the color spectrum. I detest racism. I live in Hawaii now and I hear Hawaiians on the Hawaiian OHA radio program saying that whitey(haoles) should go and the Hawaiians should take back all the land. They teach the same think in the UH law school and elsewhere on campus. Why is that not a hate crime? Because it is directed at white people. We had an Iraqi vet and his wife nearly beaten to death by a Hawaiian man and his son last year. They were screaming "Fkin' Haoles!! as they kicked the unconscious wife in the head. But the court system says that isn't a hate crime. The wife of the perpetrators said on TV that her husband and son were good church going people. "Fchin' haole" isn't racial she said. We have a park on this island where Fkin' haole tourists" get beat up on a regular basis but the Hawaiian police say it's because the tourists don't understand the Hawaiian culture. I think I have a pretty good handle on racism having lived the last 32 years of my life as a "Fkin' haole" without many of the rights you would take for granted.
