*** OFF TOPIC *** OFF TOPIC *** PC HELP NEEDED!

Sorry for the thread drift prior to mkt open but my PC is driving me CRAZY!!!

Can anyone please direct me to a locale that can assist me in defragging a Maxtor 2.0 gig drive that was installed to replace a 540mb drive in an IBM Aptiva?

Config: Pentium 133, 16MB mem, Maxtor 2.0GB drive, running Windows95.

I've attempted defrag only to have it prompt me with an error: "ID NO Defrag 006". It tells me to run ScanDisk.

I've run ScanDisk with the thorough option (twice, once without fixing problems, the second time fixing any problems). After the second ScanDisk run, I saw that ScanDisk had fixed any problems and I proceeded on to run Defrag again. I get the same problem!!! The darn thing tells me to run ScanDisk again!!!

Does anyone know how to get by this? Anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Once again, sorry for the interruption. I didn't know where else to turn.
