They are free; prison is a different matter. I doubt the military would allow it with personnel, either. Different rules when you are out of the mainstream society and in more regulated environments. Don't have the same rights of exercising free will.

I know. The "victim" sez it is, tho.

Can't say about his medical condition, but I doubt he started his strike when he was in the peak of condition, especially if he underwent stress beforehand.
