i agree that the currency "stuff" is overdone, and that in some ways it is an excuse to have a correction. and I am gonna bet quite heavily today that it is a little overdone. but the truth is that many of the asian developing contries have been trying (successfully i might add) to have their cake and eat it as the expression goes. by this I mean export a great part of production, without stimulation a home market, while keeping their currencies artifically high. in the end it hurts more if you don't treat it early.
