AF plane was 'bichado'. It means it was flying with something wrong in it, mechanical, improper maintained, accidentally set wrongly...

'Bichado' originally applies to a fruit which has worms inside. Some fly lay its eggs on the ripe fruit and the 'bicho' grows inside it.

The 'bichado' term applies to something that in the outside looks nice but inside is rotten.

Say a footballer is very good but cannot play more than one game since it spends two weeks recovering: bichado!

Some cars that are always having the same problem. It runs nicely but given change in temperature or some engineering mistake in the design fails: Bichado!

AF was 'bichado'. AF has already analysed the data it received and must by now reached the conclusion, and need the insurance company to worry about the costs of plane and passengers liabilities.
