I'm sorry, but I don't think there is any evidence they actually trespassed. I'm not arguing the point that it was stupid of them to be where they were; only that it is far from clear they were in NK. All I've seen reported is they were on the "NK/China border" and by all accounts they had no plans to enter NK.

Could be it was a mistake on their part or it could be they were kidnapped. I don't think it is really known what happened.
