I was driving back from Mexico and south of Denver last week and needed to send three coordinates to Ontario for a place in Arizona we are staking out. I saw a sign for a Starbucks off the highway and drove into Monument and figured Starbucks in the states would be just like the ones in Mexico – you get a receipt for a purchase that has a password and can hook onto the internet.

I ordered a hot chocolate and then had to buy a $5 card which gives you two hours internet. I proceeded to hook-up which means you need register at the online Starbucks and sign up with a phone company and then try and see if it all works together. After an hour of fooling around the “barista” said there was a coffee shop across the street that had free internet.

What a pleasant surprise...
