Al has the Messianic streak which would lead him to save the situation by going to North Korea. Obama seems to believe that being friendly will get him all he wants - though, on the other hand, he seems to be pretty vicious when he wants to be and Predator attacks in Pakistan continue unabated. He showed the bond holders of Government Motors who is boss.

Obama is likely to want to send him and Al Gore is likely to accept the challenge. A double Nobel Peace Prize awaits Al Gore. That must be tempting. One for making a movie and one for getting peace with North Korea.

Here is Messianic Al - CO2 is a spiritual issue, a moral calling, he is on a religious crusade.

I bet on prisoner of war status if he goes. Anyway, why not invite Kim Jong-il to Washington and take him prisoner of war? He'd probably take the bait. He has appointed his successor so that probably wouldn't achieve much. But he'd be a handy bargaining chip if North Korea takes other prisoners.

Note that Al includes ALL of humanity in his spiritual and moral challenge. That's a marker of religions - everyone has to be proselytized and brought into serfdom to pay homage and tribute and hard cash to the cause and kneel to the high priests. Even yak herders in the mountains and hut dwelling tribal hunter gatherers in Africa have to be included in Al's spiritual quest, even if they have never heard of Al Gore or CO2.
