VANCOUVER, June 10 /CNW/ - Uracan Resources Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received all remaining assay results from its winter 2009 diamond drill program on the Double S Zone within the 990 km(2) North Shore Property in Quebec. Uranium mineralization on the property continues to occur as broad multiple stacked mineralized zones hosted by granites and pegmatites, with drilled widths ranging from 6 meters to 44.9 meters. Uranium grades range from 110 parts per million (ppm) (0.011%) to 161 ppm (0.016%) U3O8.
Double S Drilling -----------------
A total of 4,819.1 meters in 21 diamond drill holes was completed during March and April of this year. Results for all drill holes have now been received. The drill program was expanded from an initial 3,000 meter program due to the success of the drill program. Up to 44.9 meters of 110 ppm (0.011%) U3O8 was noted in SS-09-86, further confirming that uranium mineralization continues to the north of the main Double S resource area.
A summary of selected mineralized zones is included below:

QA/QC -----
Samples were shipped by company personnel in sealed containers to Chemex Laboratories of Val D'Or, Quebec for analysis. Chemex is the laboratory facility used for all assays from the North Shore Property program. Samples are weighed and catalogued before sample preparation. The samples are crushed to 70% less than 2mm, split and then pulverized to 85% of the sample being less than 75 (micro)m. All samples are assayed using ICP-MS with analysis completed for 47 elements.
A QA/QC program was implemented as part of the sampling procedure for the drill program. Field duplicates and field blanks were inserted into the sample stream with at least one blank and one duplicate inserted per group of 40 samples sent to the laboratory. Uracan does not have a uranium standard to insert into the sample stream at this time. The laboratory also has an extensive in house QAQC system as part of their quality control system.
Summer 2009 Work Program ------------------------
The summer 2009 work program on the North Shore Property will start in early June. Work will focus on two main areas of the property: Costebelle and the Double S trend. Further diamond drilling on the Double S Zone, Middle Zone and TJ Zone is planned to define additional mineralization. Based on results from this drilling an updated NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate will be completed once all results have been received later in 2009.
In addition, mapping and sampling of the Costebelle claims will define the size and grade of the mineralized zones outlined during field work in 2008. Prospecting for additional mineralization elsewhere on the Costebelle claim will also occur. Once results from this field work are received, follow up drilling is planned to further outline the mineralization in these areas. Fly camps will be set up in the various areas to allow crews to quickly determine the potential of the various targets.
