Actually, they went further than that. They decided that the plaintiffs hadn't managed to make their case for a stay.

Besides, you haven't come up with a reason why a conservative leaning court would not take a case which violates the Constitution and normal business practices. If this settlement is as egregious as you are trying to make it, they would have given it a hearing. The fact of the matter is it isn't.
