SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1997--Alanco Environmental Resources Corp. (NASDAQ:ALAN) Tuesday announced that because of the success of the Fry Guy food services program in more than 1,300 Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) discount stores, the program now has been introduced into 58 Wal-Mart Supercenter locations.
"Fry Guy has been a wonderful addition to Wal-Mart snack bars across the nation," said Susan Farr, director of food services for Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart has 1,922 Wal-Mart stores, 407 Supercenters, and 442 Sam's Clubs.
Edward Maley, chief executive officer of Alanco, said, "We expect to add additional Fry Guy locations in Wal-Mart through growth and conversion of other programs. Additional growth for Fry Guy in Wal-Mart will be generated by the increase in menu items available and increased volume as customers sample our private-label SGT. FRY foods, discover their high quality and delicious taste, and come back again and again.
"Meanwhile our growth beyond Wal-Mart continues on a number of different fronts. Salubre Foods continues to sign up new distributors of the Fry Guy program in the independent retail market place."
Last month Alanco announced the Fry Guy food services program had begun rolling out to Mann Theatres in Colorado and California. Motion picture theaters represent a new venue for the quick and convenient Fry Guy food services program.
The Fry Guy Integrated Food Services Marketing Program supplies a patented, self-ventilating fryer in a convenient counter top unit that requires little shelf space and operates on 110-volt power. Under the private label SGT. FRY, Fry Guy provides end users the finest quality finger food products in conjunction with prominent food suppliers as its strategic partners. These include Tyson Foods, Anchor Foods, and the Lamb Weston division of Beatrice Foods, with cooking oil provided by Cargill. "THANKS BUTCH" JERRY |
