This is such a silly way to do things. It would be a much cleaner process for the G8 countries to set their own goals, since they are all quite alike developmentally and could actually come to a meaningful agreement quite quickly, and then institute a trade policy that greatly restricts trade with countries who don't meet the standard.

It is insane that a country like India can export it's limited water supplies to the G8 in the form of pickles.
