i simply do not know, or am not convinced, or at least not sure, of anything anybody says in these times when we find ourselves on very unfamiliar parts of the arena

one bad move, big enough, boom, game over

i do know that 99% of all money managers, economists, politicians, business folks, internet posters, and other groups of riff raff however defined, are discredited, because they did not see it coming, or did, but got seriously hit in any case

these days when i read stuff, i ask the question, "did the author see it coming", and the followup question, "did he benefit from foresight".

the tsunami wave took out 50% of the wealth during the silent night, and the backwash handed back 25%

now, the forest fire and mob looting will do worse than the tsunami

at some point the screaming will stop

by that time, preciously little worthwhile will remain

and

those with precious true capital will clean up

the script has not varied for a few thousand years

of course, there are those foolish enough to believe in new gold, in the form of qi this and qcom that

without for a moment thinking through the truth that, as a company grows, it needs the capital it generates, and pays out effectively nothing, even as folks trade its shares back and forth based on nothing more than hope over fear

and then

the company dies an anguishing death

the whole premise behind share sales is faulty

and the act of dealing in faults is just a game, and in all cases is not savings
