That reminds me of Churchill's first meeting with Montgomery. He offered the Field Marshal a drink and a cigar. "I don't smoke or drink, Mr. Prime Minister." "Why?" Churchill asked. "Because I need to be fit." "I smoke and drink and I'm double fit," Churchill said. Churchill died at 91 and Montgomery at 89. I don't think that's much of a measure, though. Montgomery lived a much harder life, though Churchill had his wild youth.
