Where will they get the fuel? Hydrogen takes energy to make. It ain't like there is a hydrogen well. EROEI is like 50%. Hydrogen is only useful as one form of storage of XS power. Like windfarms cranking like crazy at 2AM with no place to send the demand.
Maybe somebody like me, if I disconnected from the grid. Too much solar in the day, use it to make H2 for my car. But why not have an electric car and cut out the middle step?
