Were you VOCAL about your (supposed) 'opposition' to his explosion of the deficit? When all the economists first made their projections in late 2001 and early 2002 showing clearly that UNLESS HE DRASTICALLY CUT BACK SPENDING (or, alternately, started taking an axe to special interest loopholes in our corrupted tax codes) we would see ALL ECONOMIC BENEFITS FROM THE MODEST TAX REDUCTIONS PASSED IN HIS FIRST YEAR *evaporate* by MID-DECADE... and then EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER WOULD SEE BELOW-PAR ECONOMIC RESULTS as the deficit began to bite deeper??????????

Or where you near-totally SILENT back then?

Were you out-front pushing for immediate restoration of PAYGO budgeting rules (and pushing for a Balanced Budget Amendment for our Constitution), and calling for Bush to put all that war spending in his budgets, (instead of trying to keep it from the voting public's awareness by calling it "off-budget"), or were you NOT because your particular pet political group was on top at that moment??????????

There is little doubt, Bill... there are SOME THINGS you put way higher in importance then balanced budgets and fiscal prudence.

So, although you may occasionally support calls for fiscal restraint and balanced budgets (it is nearly always only when a political bunch that you oppose are holding the reins of power... almost never when your own 'sainted' group is in-charge.)

And the 'proof' of the pudding?

YOU STILL oppose the structural fixes to the system that are the only things which stand any chance of restraining this multi-decade long already BIPARTISAN SURGE IN SPENDING AND BORROWING.
