Oh bummer! I do remember Clinton's actual two vetoes not stopping the Republicans from passing their welfare reform bill three times. I guess threats of vetoes don't scare Republics but do scare dem Dems. Why should veto threats scare dem Dems from passing their bills to show the American public what their ideals and policies are? I only have your biased opinion that the threats of a Bush veto stopped dem Dems. My opinion and others opinions of why the Dems didn't pass bills to "save the economy" may actually differ from your biased opinion. The facts may also greatly differ from your biased opinion of why dem Dems didn't pass the bills you referred to.
We can agree that the Dems were scared though. My opinion is they were more scared of the American people's opinion of their policies than that of a Bush veto. A bill to cut funding in Iraq would have been seen by the American public as the Dems not supporting the troops that they voted to put there into Iraq. A tax bill to tax "the rich"' would have been seen by the American public as a continuation of the Dem policies to always raise taxes on every body, rich and poor alike. Please don't believe me but do ask dem Dems to see their focus group polls for these bills. Remember the Dems yacht tax and its affects on the economy? Or do you just have selective memory?

In the future, please separate the facts from your biased opinions?
