I'm sure it's a great wine and I'll try if it ever crosses my path.

Those of us who are not experts, tend to use what ever has worked for them in the past. Animals on the label work for some. For me sometimes I just let the bottle talk to me. If I hear a voice saying "I'm good" I'll buy it unless it's a California Merlot which have always produced a rancid metal taste in my mouth. Well aged French wines that contain a large amount of Merlot often taste great to me, however.

It's more of a divination than a science.

Not here to argue either. Just shooting the breeze.
