I knew it was BS from the start.

Bush was counting the SS surpluses to justify cuts in the income and estate taxes. That's dirty pool.

And it didn't take a brain surgeon to realize he'd later say SS was broke, and therefore couldn't honor its commitments (which is exactly what he later claimed). If you steal the SS surplus money, give it out as income and estate tax cuts, and then claim SS is broke and can't pay its obligations, what does that make you?
