It is about jobs. We have nearly 10 percent unemployment. It does not look like jobs are coming back very quickly. Under the rosiest scenarios, the jobless rate will go up a few percentage points. If the situation does not turn around and instead nosedive, we could be seeing severe joblessness. Even at 10%, millions of jobless are suffering through no fault of their own.

Why should we risk pursuing the dangerous musings of fringe economists?

The suffering is real but the musings are nothing more than musings.
