I wouldn't have my kids in Catholic School if that were the case... or if they didn't teach evolution and science for that matter. Besides all that, as to Catholic Church and evolution, they seem to have little problem with it... nowadayz. en.wikipedia.org I think they are more careful these days as to where they dig their heels in... although normally when they DO change stances (see Pope infallibility) there is plenty of butt covering, obfuscation, and intellectual brainpower used in creation of reams upon reams of proclamations to try and make sense of the whole thing rather than just say they were wrong. For example: catholic.org Why do they bother taking sides on this? They both 'contain' the basics of evolution... why risk getting egg on their faces again? I think they assume "Intelligent Designers" are wacko creationists in disguise... no doubt some are, I dunno. ID "idea" seems OK to me... never read the "theory" if there is one. DAK
