You excavate a trench with a backhoe and direct lay a fiber cable on a bed of sand. Trench: 1m deep. 30cm wide.

De-mining certificate states that the baseline is the side of the road, stating it was de-mined 15m each side of the road.

That agrees with the final report of 2.250.459m2 for a Cusse-Caluquembe stretch is 73Km: 30mx73.000=2.190.000m2

Our baseline is not the side, of the road but the axis of the road (the dividing line). That should have left a guard margin of 5m of de-mined route.

How comes we hit a mine within the de-mined area?
1) De-mining sought only metal-casing mines but left plastic-casing mines.
2) De-miners are not doing a proper job.

In any case renders the de-mining certificate not trust-worthy.

I need to think.
