"maybe we deserve to burn as a society."

Ya think? The arrogance of the people in DC and NYC is surpassed only by their incompetence.

The regulators were asleep at the switch and allowed all the problems we are having to occur. The government's response? More regulators and more power for them. How about replacing all the regulators by outright firing them?

The Fed created one of the greatest financial disasters in the history of the country. The answer according to Timmy at the Treasury? Give the Fed more power.

The dollar is tanking due to the "quantitative easing" policy of the Fed. The Fed's response? quite literally, "We don't understand why the dollar is declining".

The country is in debt up to it's eyeballs, and the economy is in dire straits. Obama's solution? Hey, this is the perfect time to spend over a trillion dollars we don't have to nationalize health care.

Automakers lambasted by Congress for using corporate jets to go to DC on business. Later banking executives given TARP funds are using corporate jets for personal trips. Congress says nothing.

Idiots, one and all. Complete and total idiots. With a lot of luck the next pandemic will start and run wild in Washington DC before dissipating. Most of those clowns probably think they are too important to get sick.
