Speaking of California, I live part-time in Los Olivos, a small town in the middle of Santa Ynez Valley. The population of the town is one thousand but has twenty-two tasting rooms. Recently there have been "sale" signs appearing out in front of several of the tasting rooms. I favor wines by Daniel Gehrs, a small producer and recently bought a case of Zinfindel that was marked down fifty percent. Santa Barbara County isn't known for their zins, but this one is quite good for fifteen dollars. I don't see it offered on their website, but is available at the tasting room.
