Good point about Volcker. How about "Volcker-like" - someone who's tough enough for the job, nobody's pushover?

But I think you understand what is meant by "Draconian". The ideas seem extreme, almost unimaginable... but something like them will be what's needed.

Is there the will for that kind of sacrifice and change? Maybe GST is right when he says "No".

Or maybe it can't happen until the public sees there's no choice... only then will the politicians be able to act.

But then, it may be too late, and you'll finally have your USD run -g-
