When the UK (and America) interfered before, conspiring to overthrow the democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadeq in 1953, the law of unintended consequences came fully into play.


This thing may be over at this point; that people did not return to the street today may indicate the opportunity at "revolution" failed.

I doubt that anything Obama could have done would have changed the outcome.

But the fact that he cowered in the face of the challenge is just one more example of Obama's weakness injuring his future proposition.

So, now, he wants to negotiate with the Iranian leadership. And they look at him and say, "Weak MF. We can run over him".

It was a mistake. Yes, he corrected it belatedly, but it was a mistake.
