Asia vendors expected to be main players for Android handsets Daniel Shen, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Monday 22 June 2009] Own-brand handset vendors in Asia have become the main force for promoting Android-powered models in the global market, with High Tech Computer (HTC), Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics being the three leaders, according to industry sources in Taiwan. Toshiba, Sharp and Asustek Computer are also developing Android handsets, the sources indicated.
