Although ETrade took orders from me before 9.30, I have been able neither to log-on to the online account or get anything other than a busy signal from the telephone accounts. I sent them a very nasty e-mail to the effect that, if they cannot capitalize sufficient computer equipment to handle heavy trading days, their more active customers will go elsewhere.

Wall Street Access, where I also have an account, is $25 per trade and was working fine. Their computer is also faster under normal conditions. I intend to move all my business there unless I get immediate confirmation from ETrade that they are committing to a major server/software upgrade. I will say that ETrade has always done an excellent job of getting me good trades.
