TM, I read that ATML acquired Digital Research in Electronic Acoustics & Music (DREAM) for an undisclosed amount. DREAM had $11M in sales last year & make silicon for music synthesizers & multimedia computers. This should give Atmel a push into the audio market & further diversify their product offerings. Atmel does not seem to be standing still..!!
