Obama challenged that if free market Health Care provides a superior product, than the health insurance companies shouldn't be bothered by government competition. This is what I consider to be disingenuous. From a cost basis, it simply is not a level playing field when the government is subsidizing an industry that has free market players.

He also asserted that the stimulus money was saving jobs. He specifically brought up Teachers and Firefighters, two classes of government jobs.

But how many health insurance workers are going to be put out of work if his plans are passed? Sure, some of them would be able to move over to the government health insurance jobs, but many will be out of work.

And what about the people put out of work by cap and trade?
Coal Miners, mine workers, power plant workers.
Steel plant workers
Oil & Gas workers
Auto workers (many of whom will become government workers)

And let's not forget about the California Farmers put out of work because of the congressional mandate to save a goddamn smelt.

So...workers in the open market, hard working blue collar, farmers, health insurance workers, autoworkers/dealers...all get to lose their jobs, but at least government workers don't lose their jobs.
