News RE: Socket 7 developments and Intel price cuts According to Tom's Hardware Guide sysdoc.pair.com he should be receiving a Socket 7 AGP motherboard from FIC today. Regarding info on Intel price cuts, the URL news.com is very confusing. The "old" prices do not agree with anything I have seen. The new prices are 2-5% lower than what was previously announced, i.e., MMX233 at $300 instead of $315 and P2-266 at $530 instead of $555. IMO, Intel will shoot themselves in both feet this quarter. IMO, AMD should be more flexible in its pricing instead of having this automatic 25% discount. Remember what happened to People Express Airlines? They were the low cost producer but the other airlines had more flexible pricing and killed them by matching the low price for the few people that cared and overcharging those who didn't. Petz
