I still think health care reform should be the following:

Find a GP and pay them $100 a month to be on their patient list....cash. With most doctors seeing an average of 1200 patients a year they would now make $1.2 million which they could pay their staff and rent with. With the cash payment they wouldn't need an accounting firm for collections and billing. (Take away any incentives given for pills or tests too.)

Pay the insurance companies $50 a month for catastrophic coverage (car wrecks, cancer, etc...)

Tell the big HMO's and "health/wellness centers" (remember, they aren't hospitals anymore) to take a flying leap with their unwanted/unnecessary tests and treatments.

I'm sure there are plenty of people here that have had (or heard of) loved ones that are dying being put through all kinds of tests/treatments that don't help the patient, but they sure pad the billing.

Uh-oh.... I'm starting to rant. Better stop before I get out the pitchfork and torch.
