I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned about things and people by traveling around different parts of the world as often as we do... sometimes there are moments that are very human and no words at all are exchanged, or at least understood... one afternoon in Rome my wife and I were sitting on a bench when a well dressed elderly lady sat down nearby... there were venders walking around selling sunglasses... the woman stopped one of the vendors to look at his inventory... she tried several pairs on and she turn to us to ask us which one looked better on her.. I think that's what she asked, we couldn't understand one word but we easily recognized the body motions and gestures... we watched her try on this and that pair, each time looking to us for our approval or disapproval... we just nodded and smiled yes or no... she finally bought two pair and we smiled with great approval... she thanked us for our assistance... a moment later we got up and left, we said ciao to the lady and she smiled and waved to us as old friends would... all part of an afternoon in Rome...
