Jackson was nowhere near as influential as people seem to think. I can't believe his death is the top story on CBC news, more important than what's going on in Iran for instance.

Of course, Jackson did sell a lot of records, but most of the attention was him being a freak show. I will give him credit for energizing the music video format, but I couldn't do more than laugh at what he produced.

Fawcett was a complete non-entity after her one year on that piece of fluff Charlie's Angels.

Of course, Ed McMahon, who had no discernable talent at all other than losing money, got all sorts of attention the other day for some reason.

There were thousands of deaths today that were far more important than any of these three.
