Maybe a deal could be worked out - MHers would stop changing the name if MS would stop calling Windows an operating system.

Have you heard the latest? Microsoft is targeting the embedded market - the concept is to get firmware product designers to use Windows CE (embedded version of Windows) as a real-time embedded operating system. It "only" requires about 10Mb of flash ROM. Wow, a Dilbert manager's dream; make an embedded processing system so expensive it will redefine product development world-wide.

I thought the RTOS part of it was a joke, but I re-read it. Microsoft was being serious about this.

Wait, I think I understand now - if Bill Gates could dumb down embedded systems designers around the world so that very few people could write in assembler, then he could hire all programmers with low-level skills and secure the monopoly!
