John, I had no trouble trading with Datek today. Even had confirmations within seconds, as usual. While Datek has had problems in the past, it worked well today. There were some delays using the servers that provide quotes, but the "express" server was "express" all day. Datek sometimes has trouble with market-makers that just don't like dealing with them playing games. I don't think they had the time to play games today - I think the MMs were just happy to have the added liquidity from Island. I'm afraid I didn't make the heroic move and buy INTCW on the open. :( I did buy a small position in TDF (an open-end Hong Kong fund that trades at a big discount to NAV) this morning at 11 7/8. Closed at 13 3/8. Bought some MDCO and BROC as well. Still mostly cash.
