Of course not. You think he's going to start detailing the capabilities of each of these numerous systems before an open committee session?

Everything is "limited" - which is the reason for fielding multiple systems, testing, and developing alternative programs.

But to say that we can't handle shooting down NK missiles is simply not true. Is it POSSIBLE one could be fired and we would fail to shoot it down? Of course. Nothing is 100%.

Your argument, in effect, is that our anti-missile capabilities are worthless. If you can't count on them to reliably handle a North Korean missile threat as of today -- one which you, yourself has stated is limited -- then what good are they at all?

If they are no good at all, if Gates is "bluffing" -- why have we bothered to deploy the SM-3 at all? Why have we wasted money on GBIs in Alaska and CA (Exactly what Obama has vowed to cut).

Bottom line is that yes, we CAN shoot down a NK missile with ease. Is is possible a technical malfunction would prevent us from doing so? Of course. But we have at least three viable approaches to shooting down any number of missiles they may be able to muster.
