SAN JOSE, Calif., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel Corporation(NASDAQ:ATML) announced today that it purchased Digital Research in Electronic Acoustics and Music S.A. (DREAM), for an undisclosed amount. DREAM, located in Semur-en-Auxois, near Dijon, France, is a world leader in sound synthesis technology, with strong footholds in the multimedia, karaoke and musical instrument business.
Christian Deforeit, Chief Executive Officer of DREAM, commented that "this purchase cements the long-standing product development and production relationship we have had with Atmel ES2.
