Well, you're hearing about a blue screen crash from me, 'cause it happened. More than once.

And, just to make it perfectly clear - I think CE is a total JOKE!

Actually, I have mixed feelings. I don't want to see the world of embedded processing contaminated by Microsoft. On the other hand, if CE becomes the norm, I'd be one of the few old-timers who can still develop fast, reliable, cost-effective embedded processing systems. This can only serve to help my career.

And, I do recall reading 10Mb as a requirement figure - in Microsoft's own publication. It might have been for the NT version - I don't recall.

My friend who designs systems to control steel plant furnaces will get a kick out of this conversation. I can see it now:
"Sorry your furnace blew up - our Windows CE crashed when we put the new sensor online."

And the steel plant's response: "What does CE stand for, contract eliminator? Any hopes of future contracts have been eliminated."
