It may be compared to a Ponzi scheme, but no one runs off with the money.....it is used as intended. In the old days before SS, parents paid to raise their children and then children were expected to care for their parents... That's what SS does.... There are millions surviving on SS alone. Maybe some of the future funding can come from collecting cap gains taxes on things that are not reported to the IRS on 1099's, eg options trades....billions and billions but I'm sure being an honest conservative you believe all the gains are being reported to the IRS... "Maybe if we taught our kids the truth about SS the same way we teach them the "truth" about Christopher Columbus, slavery, and other sins of the white man, we'll have a more informed American society." Sins of the white man???? Racism implied??? btw, what truth about Columbus???
